Alcohol and Other Drug Support

Alcohol and other Drug Counselling, Case Management & Psychosocial Interventions

YETI’s alcohol and other drug support programs are funded by Queensland Health and the North Queensland Primary Health Network.

The Counselling program

  • Provides appropriate and effective counselling interventions for young people between the age of 12 to 25 who are ‘at risk’ of or engaging in the use of illicit drugs. Primarily these people are wishing to reduce, cease or become safer within that use. The interventions are provided within a holistic, empowering, and strengths-based model of care.

This program is flexible, innovative, and youth-orientated and aims to meet the needs of individuals, families, groups, and/or the wider community.

If you know of someone who needs to access the counselling service please contact us for more info.

The Psychosocial program

  • Provides Case Management and Psychosocial interventions for young people up to 25 years experiencing moderate to severe problematic AOD substance use. Psychosocial Interventions also include harm reduction, care management, coordination, and wrap-around social support, including contributing to social and emotional well-being and the social and cultural determinants of health. Psychosocial Interventions aim to develop psychological and/or practical skills to reduce problematic AOD use and/or harm and improve health and well-being in line with the person’s goals and treatment plan.

We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their ancestors, their spirits, and their continuing connection to lands, waters, and communities. YETI recognises the sovereignty of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples has never been ceded and strongly believes Voice, Truth and Treaty are necessary to heal from the injustices of colonisation.
